Every building project today is an environmental project
That’s why M&E consultants, architects and building facilities and logistics managers rely on Atmosphere to help them meet the ever-changing regulations surrounding air conditioning, heat recovery and ventilation.
By January 2006 new European rules on energy performance in buildings will come into force and form part of the UK’s national legislation. The regulations focus on the conservation of fuel and power in the ‘built’ environment and they apply to new buildings and new construction projects as well as refurbishments and refits of existing buildings over 1000m².
Builders, contractors and suppliers alike have an obligation to:
Does your project comply? Remember that buildings are no longer allowed to overheat.
Atmosphere Air Conditioning Limited is fully committed to the protection of the environment. We are aware of the implications of our operations and endeavour to promoted, wherever possible, conservation and the use of sustainable resources.
While complying with all environmental legislation and requirements, it is our aim to strive for improvement in our environmental impact through our activities, products and air con services.
We have achieved success in reduction of HCFC used in air conditioning and refrigeration plant. We endeavour to promote the benefits of air conditioning and ventilation products that have improved EER (energy efficiency ratios), high COP (coefficient of performance), inverter technology and heat recovery.
We strive where possible to minimise the impact of our operations have on the environment. One example is by minimizing our carbon footprint by reviewing our working practices and processes.
We will continue to develop policies to support our commitment to improvement of the environment and encourage all our employees to be more aware and proactive in their working practices.
System records have to be retained for any over 3kg of refrigerant. Records have to include;
All records will readily be available to the commission and competent authority whenever requested.
Gas recovery. If refrigerant needs to be removed from a system it must be properly recovered by certified personnel. After recovery the refrigerant can be reused or sent for reclamation or destruction.
Use of adequately trained and certified staff. Personnel carrying out leak checking, gas recovery or other refrigerant handling activities such as plant installation and air conditioning repair maintenance must have a suitable refrigerant handling qualification.
Labelling. Any new system placed on the market must be fitted with a label clearly stating the type and quantity of refrigerant used.
